Space is time, the universe is closed and you are not here.
So this is about science. In another space, a new temporality, reinterpreted physics becomes conducive to the appearance of new signs. Pictographic divagations and transpositions into signs render visible a dimension which is neither parallel nor really ours. This work is the convention of an abstraction. A proposal for a fictional pictographic langage based on a reinterpreted version of the physical theory of relativity. The installation was completed at the graduation show 2018 of the HEAR in Strasbourg, France.

Forms of the pictographic language's universality • A paradoxical fantasy
2017 - Master thesis

Pictograms are visual objects lying between images and words. Graphically radical, independent and unequivocal, the pictographic language can be considered as the key of an archetypal communication system. I attached myself to criticize the latter’s controversial capacity of being universal, from the perspective of a fantasy. It allowed me to understand universality as a plural word and analyze the pictogram in various forms such as emojis, messages to extraterrestrial life or signage for nuclear waste, among many others.

Installation

This installation has been realised within the framework of the annual event « vitrines sur l’art » initiated by the Galerie Lafayette Strasbourg. It invites to invest the main widows of the Galeries as a showcase for artists during the summer. This installation, co-realised with seven students from the HEAR’s graphic communication workshop, is a invitation to travel, further than the limits of our planet. Immediate Boarding is imagined as a cosmic trip, an interstellar journey between celestial bodies, galaxies and nebulas. It shows images from the outer space, generated by the addition of typographic layers displayed in different colors as the CMJN superposition. This overlay enables the creation of this three-dimensional installaton, somewhere between text and photograhy. A digital work taking the same processed images, announces the installation.

Edition biennale in Strasbourg
Signage

Signage and exposure sheet for the exhibition of the selected books for the second edition biennale Exemplaire 2017, at the Haute Ecole des Arts du Rhin.
The biennale Exemplaire 2017 has been coordinated by the HEAR’s graphic communication workshop in April 2017 and proposed a selection of books considered as « models ». All francophones and published within the last six years, these editorial objects were chosen by the participating schools according to their own criterions.
A work led in collaboration with Heloïse Gosse, Camille Foucou and Lucas Savio. The exhibition is staged by the HEAR’s scenography workshop.

Archeology from the web • Rebuilding a Ghaznavid minaret

The two minarets of Ghazni (Afghanistan, XIth and XIIth century) are some of the last jewels of the Ghaznavid architectural and decorative style, relics of an era. After going through a millenium, they are at the present time suffering from the constant conflicts raging in this region, fearing the disinterest and ruination. Anticipating a possible destruction of these two priceless and unique structures, this works is at first a collection of various pictures, and in a second time an attempt of rebuilding. It is based on one of the only archeological resources we could have in the futur to find images with a significant documentary value : internet.

Digital asylum • Southern hemerasylia
Identity

This idendity has been realised for a fictionnal country. A digital asylum where oppressed people escaping war or dictatorship can live in a peaceful space as holograms : Southern Hemerasylia.
It contains basic institutional graphic objects such as a flag, coins and banknotes, and other heraldry and emblems. This indentity evolves arround the graphic and scientific interpretation of light waves, used as a grid and pattern, in relation with allegoric figures of light. An important part of these items are think as moving objects, due to their relation with light and hollographic technology, which explains the animated picture they contain. The whole set is completed by a special map and some identity papers (résident permit).

Architectural mapping • Le Corbusier's work

This project is a cartographic system which unables to archive all the architectural work of the french architect Le Corbusier, as well in space as in time, from 1905 to 1965, all over the world. This system takes the shape of a spreadsheet combined with a map, which becomes a book collection then a 3D interactive installation. I wanted this system to deal with cartesian data, as well as serendipity and randomness.

Editorial mapping • Places from the old testament
Editorial design

Proposition for an editorial mapping of the places mentionned in the Old Testament, from the Strasbourg Libraries’s database. This small collection gather all the bibliographic references which contain at least one place, mentionned in the bibles first book. All these references are displayed following an alphabetic order, divided in chapters named after the « historical books ». These chapters are once again divided in four volumes, according to the canonic structure of this part of the bible.
